Shops, Showrooms & Retail
Google My Business for shops — fewer walking past, more searching
Footfall did not disappear — it moved. The customer who used to walk down the bazaar now opens Maps, looks at photos and reviews, and drives to whoever looks open, close and legitimate.
For most shops the highest-return fix is the Google listing, not a website. The audit will tell you which one you are.
No lock-in contract. A written quote before any work starts. You talk to the founder, not a sales team.

The problem
What shop owners actually tell us
The bazaar is quieter than it used to be
It is not only online shopping. A lot of it is that people now decide which shop to visit before they leave home.
People call asking if we are open
Which means your timings are wrong or missing on Google — and for every person who calls, several just went elsewhere.
The shop two doors down shows up, we do not
Usually because their listing is complete and yours is not. It is rarely about who has been there longer.
We got a bad review and it is still sitting there
An unanswered review does more damage than the review itself. A calm reply reads better to the next customer than the complaint does.
We post on Instagram and nothing happens
Posting is not the same as being findable. Posts reach people who already follow you; search reaches people looking to buy today.
Someone made us a website years ago
And it has your old number, no photos, and takes six seconds to load on a phone. That is worse than having none.
The evidence
How people choose a shop now
Published industry research, source named against each figure. Market data — not Nexkali client results.
47.3%
of clicks on a local search go to the Google map pack
Up from about 42% the year before.
68%
need at least 4 stars before they will consider you
Up from 55% a year earlier. BrightLocal 2026
47%
will not use a business with fewer than 20 reviews
Review count reads as proof the business is real.
What works here
What we would actually recommend for a shop
In order of return for money spent.
01
Google Business Profile, properly finished
Categories, timings, products, and real photos of the shop — inside, outside, and the board. This is your shopfront for everyone who has not walked past.
02
A review habit, not a review campaign
One WhatsApp message after a sale, a QR card at the counter, and a reply to every review. Never bought — Google catches them and the listing carries the suspicion.
03
Then Meta ads to WhatsApp
A small daily budget with the ad opening a chat. For clothing, furniture, jewellery and electronics this outperforms almost anything else at the same spend.
The language question
What shop owners actually search — and why it matters
This is a real finding from checking Google, not an assumption.
For shop and retail queries, the searches people run are overwhelmingly in Hinglish — dukan ki sale kaise badhaye, dukan ki sale badhane ke upay, customer kaise laye. For clinics the same intent is searched almost entirely in English.
So we write the page in English, and keep the questions in whichever language they are genuinely typed. That is why a few FAQ questions on your pages will look Hinglish — because that is what your customer typed into Google.
Questions
Straight answers
Dukan ki sale kaise badhaye?
Sabse pehle ye pakka karo ki jo aadmi abhi aapki cheez search kar raha hai, use aap milte ho. Iska matlab poori Google listing — sahi category, sahi timings, dukaan ki asli photos, aur genuine reviews. Ye sabse sasta kadam hai. Uske baad chhote daily budget ke Meta ads jo seedha WhatsApp par le jaayein. Website sabse aakhir mein aati hai.
Customer kaise laye jab bazaar mein bheed kam ho?
Bheed kam nahi hui, jagah badal gayi hai. Pehle log bazaar mein ghoom kar dukaan chunte the, ab phone par chunte hain aur seedha wahi jaate hain. Isliye kaam ye hai ki phone par aap dikhein — Maps par, photos ke saath, khuli timings ke saath, aur reviews ke saath.
Do I need a website for my shop?
Often no, at least not first. For a lot of shops a complete Google Business Profile plus WhatsApp does the job — most mobile users contact a business straight from local results without ever reaching a website. You need a site when people compare you before visiting, or when you sell something considered and expensive.
How do I get more Google reviews?
Ask every satisfied customer at the moment of the sale, by WhatsApp, with a direct link. A QR card at the counter helps. Never buy them and never offer anything in return — Google’s filter removes bought reviews and the suspicion stays on your listing.
Should I run ads on Instagram or Facebook?
Depends who buys from you. Clothing, footwear, salons, cafes, furniture — Instagram. Anything bought by people over forty — usually Facebook. We run both and move the budget to whichever is producing.
Will you actually come and photograph the shop?
Yes. Board, exterior, interior, products, and you or your staff. This is the part nobody managing you from a city office will do — and it is the part that makes the listing work.
Google map par apni shop ki location kaise dale?
Google Business Profile banaiye, shop ka exact address daaliye, aur video verification kariye — usme aapka board, andar ka hissa, aur aas-paas ka rasta dikhana hota hai. Isi wajah se hum khud aapki shop par aate hain, kyunki ye premises ki asli photos honi chahiye.
How do I increase footfall in my shop?
People near you are already searching. The only question is whether your shop is one of the three that appear on the map when they do. Correct category, real photos, accurate timings and reviews decide that, and all four are free to fix.
