Clinics & Doctors

Local SEO for doctors — when new patients stop coming

You did not open a clinic to learn advertising. And you should not have to risk your registration to fill your OPD. There is a way to do this that is both effective and safe.

The audit checks your listing, your reviews and the other clinics in your town — and flags anything that could put your registration at risk.

No lock-in contract. A written quote before any work starts. You talk to the founder, not a sales team.

The problem

What this usually looks like

  • Your OPD is full some days and empty others, and you cannot tell why.
  • A new clinic nearby is running loud ads with claims you would not be comfortable making.
  • Patients say they could not find your timings or your number online.
  • You have four Google reviews. The clinic two streets away has sixty.
  • Somebody offered to run ads for you with before-and-after photos, and something about it felt wrong.

Important

Can a doctor advertise in India? The straight answer.

This is the part most agencies will not tell you, because it limits what they can sell you.

The National Medical Commission’s code of ethics restricts self-promotion, soliciting patients, and claims about outcomes. Enforcement has increased in recent years. Advertising that promises results, compares you to other doctors, or uses patient before-and-after images sits on the wrong side of that line.

And here is the part that matters most: the risk is yours, not the agency’s. If a campaign crosses the line, it is your registration in front of the council — not the agency’s. Whoever ran the ad will still be in business next month.

There is a second reason to work this way. Google’s own filters scrutinise medical categories far more heavily than most — profiles in this space get auto-flagged more often, and a listing built on aggressive claims is the first to go. So we work the other way. Everything we do for a clinic is information, not persuasion:

  • Google Business Profile — correct timings, location, services, department, photos of the premises. Factual information, and what most patients are actually looking for.
  • Real reviews, asked for properly. Never bought, never written by us, never incentivised.
  • Educational content — what a procedure involves, what recovery looks like, when to see a doctor. This is what people search, and increasingly what AI assistants quote.
  • Findability, not claims. Making sure someone searching your speciality in your town can find you, with no promise attached about the outcome.
  • What we will not do: outcome claims, patient before-and-after photos, testimonials about treatment success, “best doctor in” language, or comparison advertising. If you ask us to, we will decline and explain why.

Questions

Straight answers

Can doctors advertise in India as per NMC?

Not in the promotional sense. The code of ethics restricts self-promotion, soliciting patients and claims about treatment outcomes. What is permitted is factual information — your qualifications, speciality, address, timings and services. That is a real limit, and it is also why the safe approach works: a complete, accurate listing plus genuine reviews plus useful information will fill an OPD without putting your registration anywhere near a council complaint.

Can I run Google Ads for my clinic?

It is possible and clinics do it, but it needs care — the copy must stay factual with no outcome promises, and Google itself restricts healthcare advertising in India for certain categories. For most clinics in this belt, fixing the listing gets more patients for less money and less risk.

Can we use before-and-after photos of patients?

We will not do it. Even with the patient’s consent, this sits squarely inside what the code treats as outcome advertising, and the consequence lands on your registration. There is no version of this we are willing to run for you.

What does clinic marketing cost?

We quote in writing after the Free Growth Audit, because it depends on whether you need the listing fixed, content written, or both. What we will say plainly is that the agencies quoting large monthly retainers for a single clinic in this belt are usually selling far more than the problem requires.

How soon will I see a difference?

The listing usually settles within two to four weeks, and that is when the “found you on Google” patients start. Reviews build slowly — expect about three months to change how your listing looks next to your competitors.

How do we get reviews without asking for something inappropriate?

A short WhatsApp message after the visit with a direct link, and a small QR card at reception. Never offer anything in return, never write them yourself, and reply to every one including the unhappy ones — a calm reply to a bad review reads better to the next patient than the review does.

Why does my clinic listing keep getting flagged or suspended?

Medical is one of the categories Google’s automated filters scrutinise most heavily, so legitimate clinics do get caught. The usual triggers are keywords added to the business name, an address that does not match your other records, or a burst of edits. It is recoverable, but it needs registration proof, premises photos and address proof ready.

We are in Nakodar or Shahkot — do you visit?

Yes. Nakodar is fifteen minutes from us and Shahkot is our own tehsil. We come and photograph the clinic properly and set the listing up on site.

How do I increase clinic footfall?

In most towns the answer is not advertising. It is that your Google listing is incomplete and the clinic two streets away has forty reviews to your four. Patients search, see three clinics on the map, and call one of them. Getting into those three is the whole job.

How do I attract patients to a dental clinic?

Dental is one of the most searched categories on Google Maps, and also one where reviews decide almost everything. Real photographs of the actual clinic, services listed correctly, and a steady flow of genuine reviews. No before-and-after photos of patients and no bought reviews, because both put your registration at risk.

How do I make my clinic stand out from the one down the road?

Not with better adjectives. With more real photographs, replies to every review, correct timings, and services listed properly. Most clinics do none of this, so doing it plainly is usually enough.

Dental clinic me patient kaise badhaye?

Sabse pehle Google listing theek karni hoti hai — category, photos, timings aur reviews. Zyadatar clinics ke liye ads ki zaroorat baad mein aati hai, listing pehle.
